PCA Guidance Department Mission
to provide all students with a comprehensive program centered on Biblical Truth that supports the highest level of student achievement, within their individual design, in academic, personal/social and future career domains in collaboration with teachers, parents, administrators and a caring community.
This mission is achieved through in-class lessons on a variety of emotional and social learning topics referred to as COMPASS class. The guidance department also strives to promote a healthy, Christian culture by providing opportunities to students for involvement in community-building service projects. In the past, students and families have assisted Succop Nature Park with landscaping, stuffed fire safety bags for the Red Cross, assisted the PCA Maintenance staff with various projects and have even been challenged to find service projects to complete on their own!
Penn Christian Academy also has a Student Assistance Program. The school guidance counselor is available on an individual basis to teachers and parents who identify a student who is struggling emotionally, behaviorally or socially. Students may also refer themselves for support. An individual plan is then created to assist the student in achieving success in the school environment. For more information on the Student Assistance Program, see the Guidance SAP Brochure.
