Teacher Assignments PreK-5th

You will be able to find your child’s class by logging into your FACTS Family Portal:
www.FACTSMGT.com -> Parent Log in -> FACTS Family Portal. Once logged in, select student ->Schedules.
The homeroom teacher listed will be your child’s teacher. For multiple children, there is a drop down box where your child’s name is. You should be able to select your other students. Students will get the opportunity to meet their teacher at the Meet n’ Greet in August (8/19/21 1:30-3:00).

Middle School Class Assignments – Schedules will be given to parents on Parent Night on August 23, 6:30 pm. You should receive an email with links to sign up for electives in early August. If not, please contact the school office 724-586-5200 pcaoffice@pennchristianacademy.org

Your child will be put on a bus at the end of the day. Please communicate to the office if you do not want your child on the bus and you plan to pick up your child at the end of the day.

Every year transportation plans reset.
Please don’t assume that we will put your child in pick up line because they were in pick up line last year.

An email to pcaoffice@pennchristianacademy.org or a note brought into the office will ensure your child is at the right place at the end of the day. (ONLY those who are picking up their children every day or set days need to respond). School Districts typically provide busing information the week or so before school starts.

The cost of school supplies is included in tuition.

Your child will only need to bring:

Backpack

Lunch box – optional

Bible – K-5th

All options are listed on the school calendar.

Student lunches are $3.00
Adult Lunches are $3.75

If parents plan to come and have lunch with their child and would like to order a lunch, we ask that you call or email the school office in the morning so that the proper number of lunches can be prepared each day. Parents should expect to pay $3.75 for a school lunch.

See this month’s menu here.

Please contact the office if your child has any specific allergy or medical condition that may affect their health and safety. We try to make every effort to make sure all the necessary staff are aware and what to look out for, should an incident arise with your child.

Some of you are already familiar with Family Portal. FACTS SIS is the software the school utilizes for recording keep, grades, attendance, lunch charges, etc. Family portal is the parents’ access to this software. As a parent, you will be able to check on grades, calendar events and times, even pay for your lunches.

An app version is also available for IOS and Android users.

If you have not yet signed up for an account, please be sure to do so before the first day of school. We will also be available to help you out at Parent Night. Instructions for signing up are here.

PCA has an alert system in place for communication. These will be utilized for communi-cating events, delays, cancellations and other announcements. A test text will be sent to your phones on Sunday, August 15. If you have not received an alert text from PCA by end of day on Sunday, then we probably we don’t have the correct cell number for you. Please contact the office to make any necessary changes.

All invoices will be sent via email this year. Please be sure you have signed up for a payment plan or have made payment in full to the school. This must be completed before the first day of school. To sign up or check your status, go to:
FACTSMGT.com ->Parent Login -> Payment Plans/Financial Aid.

PLEASE be sure to select a payment plan once you have signed in, if you have not already done so.

*please contact the office if you did not receive an invoice by 7/31/21*

We want you  to feel free to come and visit the school and your student. However, with security concerns and requirements, it is essential we have a procedure and process in place to ensure the safety of your child and other children within our school.

_EACH VISITOR MUST CHECK IN THE FRONT OFFICE AND GET THEIR ID SCANNED INTO OUR SECURITY SOFTWARE. _

Lunch visits are a great way to see your child. You can come and visit during your child(ren)’s lunch period. PLEASE call/send a note ahead so we can prepare for your visit, be sure to preorder your meal if you plan to eat with us. Please plan extra time to get scanned into our system.  Unfortunately, we can not allow visitors to walk their student back to class.

Chapels visits are another great way to see your child. You can come and visit during chapel on Fridays. Please plan extra time to get scanned into our system.  Unfortunately, we can not allow visitors to walk their student back to class.

Classroom visits are limited to teacher invitation. Please work out details with the teacher, in advance, if you are planning to visit. Please note, that it may not be conducive to the class schedule and teachers may not be able to accommodate requests.

Volunteer. We LOVE our volunteers. There are many opportunities to help the office, lunchroom, classrooms, field trips, homeroom parents, etc. Please note, in order to volunteer, the school must have required clearances. Please inquire at the school office for information on how to acquire these clearances*.

The school has the right to deny entry of any person for any reason, as the children’s safety is the highest priority. There may also be times that visitors may be harder to accommodate due to the day’s schedule or safety measures, so please call ahead and let us know if you plan to come.

*For those who already submitted clearances, feel free to contact the school office if you need to check that they are still valid.

Cafeteria Volunteers Needed.

Sign up for August.

Sign up for September.

Contact Sabrina (sabrinamyers@pennchristianacademy.org) for any questions.

In an effort to keep the morning routine safe and efficient, parents/guardians will not be permitted to walk their child to their classroom*.  There will be a greeter to welcome your children at all entrances and will be available to help your child get to their destination.

*Parents will be permitted to walk their child to class during the first week of school (August 25-27) Staff will be posted throughout the school during this week for safety. Due to this measure, checking in at the office will not be required. We ask you to refrain from utilizing the restrooms within the facility during this week, to keep all areas easy to monitor.**

In an effort to make keep the security of the school a high priority as well as allow freedom for events, visits, etc. Penn Christian Academy has adopted the following procedure for visits:

EACH VISITOR must check in at the front office.

EACH VISITOR must be scanned into our  security system. This is not the same as having clearances. Our school uses Raptor Technologies. Raptor is the nation’s leading provider of integrated school safety technologies. Raptor school security systems help our school screen for registered sex offenders, and respond to emergencies. More than 28,000 campuses across the U.S. trust Raptor to keep their students safe.

EACH VISITOR is expected to enter and depart through the front entrance. During special events: Grandparents Day, Pastor Appreciation, etc. and school program days, back door entry and departure is acceptable as greeters will be posted at these points.

**during the first week  of school (August 25-27) staff will be posted throughout the school during this week for safety. Due to this measure, checking in at the office will not be required. We ask you to refrain from utilizing the restrooms during this week, to keep all areas easy to monitor.**

If your child is to be picked up regularly after school, please be sure you have contacted the office. Otherwise, your child will be put on a bus at the end of the day. If your child is in pick up line please be sure you loop around the back parking lot, lining up in a single file. First car should stop parallel to the playground set.
If you need to make any dismissal changes for a specific day for your student, please let the office AND your teacher(s) know before or by 2:00 pm.

All school—wide information will be communicated via email/website/parent alert/Parent Portal. We will work hard at keeping this information updated and consistent in all places. You will receive notice when a new communication has been made.

We will continue to utilize the PCA Bulletin Board for all school wide information/dates/announcements. Please be sure to check this webpage frequently for up to date info.

School Closures will be communicated first through PARENT ALERT and our Facebook page and then through local tv/radio stations.

Homeroom teachers will provide your student with their lunch and daily schedule.

  • In the mornings, doors open at 7:55 and the tardy bell rings at 8:20.
  • School dismissal is 3:10. 1st round buses are dismissed at this time as well as any after school activities/programs
  • Pick up line begins as soon as the last bus is dismissed from the school parking lot. Usually within 5—10 minutes of end of school (3:10).

If your child misses school, a written excuse, email or handwritten, is required within 5 days of their return.

If there is medication that will need to be dispensed during school hours, the office will keep all medications secured. Specific forms must be completed and submitted to the office before dispensing of medications can occur.

Please contact the office if you need forms.

We do not have a nurse on staff. All sick and injured children are seen by volunteers or the office staff. Any time your child is seen in the office for an injury, or complains of any aches or pains that can not be handled in the classroom, an email notification will go home to the parents for each incident/visit. This keeps you informed as well as helps us keep accurate records. If there is a major concern (fever, vomiting, considerable injury, etc.), a phone call will be made to the parent.
