Cross Country
PCA students in grades 4-8 are invited to join the Cross Country team. The team meets twice a week and encourages students to be active and also introduces them to running. Runners get a variety of running experiences by running on local roads, running around the PCA campus, and even trail running at the neighboring Succop Conservancy. The team is open to students of any athletic ability and all students (and their families!) are encouraged to join! The team also participates in meets with other faith-based schools around the area.
Basketball
Fifth through eighth-grade boys and girls who attend Penn Christian Academy have the opportunity to participate in the school basketball program. Currently, we field a Boys Basketball team as well as a Girls Basketball team. These teams compete locally against other basketball programs from both faith-based and public school programs.
Our teams typically practice twice a week. Practices begin in early November with games beginning in late November. The season concludes by late February.
Each year, PCA offers a basketball clinic for students in second through fourth-grade. Students complete drills and learn skills needed to prepare them for competitive basketball programs.
Soccer
In the fall, PCA students in grades 3-8 are invited to participate in the PCA intramural soccer program. This program will meet twice a week in early September and will run until late October. The focus of the program will be to teach the game of soccer to students as well as give them an opportunity to be active and compete against classmates. The first few weeks of the program are devoted to skill development and learning the game and gradually progress into splitting the students into even teams and playing games at an intramural level. All games and practices will be held in the ball fields behind Penn Christian Academy.
